It is extremely resistant to high temperature, and its strength can be maintained to a high temperature of 1200 ℃ without decreasing. After being heated, it will not melt into a molten body, and will not decompose until 1900 ℃. It has amazing chemical corrosion resistance, and can withstand almost all inorganic acids and less than 30% caustic soda solution, as well as many organic acids; It is also a high-performance electrical insulating material.

Silicon nitride ceramics have the characteristics of high strength and high temperature resistance. Among ceramic materials, its comprehensive mechanical properties are the best, and its thermal shock resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance are good. It is the first candidate material for ceramics used in thermal engine parts. In the mechanical industry, silicon nitride ceramics are used as bearing balls, rollers, ball races, tooling, new ceramic tools, pump plungers, mandrel sealing materials, etc.
